Brian Peccarelli is responsible for the overall global Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, which provides tax and accounting automation solutions and related services to multinational corporations, professional accounting firms and governments.
With more than 25 years of experience working in the tax software and services industry, Mr. Peccarelli most recently served as president of Workflow & Service Solutions within the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
Mr. Peccarelli is a CPA and an attorney, a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He received his JD from Hamline University School of Law, his BA in Accounting and Business Administration from Carthage College and his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Jon Baron joined Thomson Reuters in 1992. Prior to his promotion to managing director in 1998, he was vice president of development, responsible for the design and development of all products and services for the Professional Segment, Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
His more than 40 years of technology development and management experience includes more than 17 years with CCH Computax (now Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America software unit) in various executive technology development and operations positions.
Mr. Baron earned a BBA in Accounting from Siena College and an MBA from Boston University.
Managing Director, EMEA/ANZ
Global Head of Portfolio Management
Paul Brindle is responsible for the Tax & Accounting operations in the regions of Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Australia / New Zealand. His focus is on expanding the Corporate, Professional, Knowledge Solutions and Government businesses in these regions by enhancing go-to-market capabilities and building additional scale to service the company’s global, regional and local customers.
Mr Brindle is also Global Head of Portfolio Management for Tax & Accounting. He has oversight of the product development roadmap, key regional go-to-market strategy and channel management, and the capital planning process in support of the global product portfolio of Tax & Accounting.
Before joining Thomson Reuters in 2007, Mr Brindle was with PwC for 16 years where he worked in Melbourne, London and Sydney. As a partner at PwC he worked in the firm’s tax practice, specialising in corporate tax advice, international tax and tax compliance across a range of industries. During this time he built up the Australian firm’s tax software business which was ultimately acquired by Thomson Reuters.
Mr Brindle is a Chartered Accountant, a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Accounting from Monash University. He has an MBA from Melbourne Business School and has completed executive programs at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago and the WHU – Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Germany.
Vice President, Technology and Interim Chief Technology Officer
Scot Crismon is a veteran of almost 25 years in the software development and technology management field. He is the Vice President of Technology in charge of the Shared Platform Group in Tax & Accounting and is currently serving as interim CTO of the business unit. He is responsible for the development and hosting of several key Tax & Accounting products, namely ONESOURCE Workflow Manager, GoFileRoom, Abacus Enterprise Workflow and the Lone Star platform.
In 1996, Scot played a key role in founding ePropertyTax.com, an early adopter of web-based solutions for property tax management and compliance which would eventually be acquired by Thomson Reuters in 2006.
For Tax & Accounting, he served on the Technology Leadership Team and the Technology Executive Leadership Team. He helped to develop the Tax & Accounting data center strategy and provided leadership for various platform initiatives including ONESOURCE and Onvio. He also served as operational manager for the Beyond the EDGE technology conferences and led the EDGE committee in building one of the Hub’s preeminent sites for technology videos: the EDGE.
For Thomson Reuters he participated in the 20/20 platforms initiative and is currently serving on Thomson Reuters’ Technology Learning Council.Prior to his career in technology, Scot taught high school mathematics and science, and he holds a BS degree from Excelsior College. He currently lives in Frisco, Texas with his wife and two of his six children. His hobbies include playing the piano, playing soccer, camping and hiking.
Sari L. Dweck
Senior Vice President
Sari L. Dweck is the General Counsel for the overall Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, which provides tax and accounting software solutions and related services to multinational corporations, professional accounting firms and governments.
Prior to her current position, Sari was the Assistant General Counsel of Thomson Learning, a publisher of higher education textbooks and online learning solutions and, prior to that, transactions counsel to the Thomson Corporation.
Before joining The Thomson Corporation in 2001, Ms. Dweck was a partner in the New York office of the law firm of Wolf Block Schorr and Solis-Cohen, where she practiced in the fields of general corporate law, securities law, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Dweck received her BA degree from Barnard College/Columbia University and her JD degree from NYU Law School.
Carol MacKinnon Fox
Head of Global Accounts
Carol is responsible for the Global Account Management program, focused on the largest customers of the Tax & Accounting business. She also oversees the Strategic Alliances/Certified Implementer Program (CIP)
Since joining Reuters in 1998, Carol has held a variety of roles in marketing, sales, and strategy, serving most recently as Vice President, Office of the CEO.
She received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Carol worked at The Advisory Board Company.
Carol is on the board of the Lower East Side Ecology Center.
Managing Director Tax & Accounting Corporate Segment
Joe Harpaz is the managing director of the Corporate segment of Tax & Accounting at Thomson Reuters. In this role, Joe leads the ONESOURCE business, the market-leading tax technology suite used by major multinational corporations and the largest global accounting firms.
Joe has wide-ranging business and leadership experience in the tax and accounting industry — from technology architecture and development to sales and marketing to business line responsibility. Over his tenure at Thomson Reuters, Joe has held several senior management positions such as vice president, Office of the President and vice president & general manager of ONESOURCE global tax technology – where he helped define the global strategy for the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Joe co-founded Immediatech, where he was behind the design of the GoFileRoom solution, now the platform for ONESOURCE WorkFlow Manager.
A frequent presenter at customer and industry events, Joe also has a column for Forbes in which he analyzes the connections between economics and business opportunities, highlighting examples of where tax helps or hinders growth.
In 2016 Robin Hembree was named vice president of Business Enablement. In this role she is leading enterprise transformation initiatives focused on competitively positioning Tax & Accounting in the future marketplace. This role requires leading cross-functional, cross-divisional initiatives to identify gaps, implement process improvement solutions and leverage change management principles to ensure these initiatives are embedded throughout the organization.
Since joining Thomson Reuters in 2006 she has held several executive Human Resource positions, most recently serving as Global Head of Human Resource for the Tax & Accounting business unit. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters Ms. Hembree served as head of Human Resources for a number of diverse organizations within the machine vision, market research, commercial mechanical and restaurant industries.
Ms. Hembree earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Michigan.
Joe Jackson is responsible for the global strategy and business operations of the government practice within the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. Before taking on this role, he was managing director for Latin America, where he was responsible for all Tax & Accounting activities in the region.
Joe began his career with Thomson Reuters (CLR/FastTax) in 1984 in software development and support and quickly migrated to positions in marketing and sales management. From 1994 to 2006, Joe worked at Deloitte/Corptax holding leadership positions in product marketing and regional sales and support management. Joe returned to Thomson Reuters in 2006 as vice president, Business Development, for the Trust Tax business where he drove overall business development and strategy, prior to taking over the leadership position of ONESOURCE Income Tax in 2010. In January of 2012 he became responsible for the Latin American region of Tax & Accounting.
Joe has over 25 years experience in the tax technology and services market, a Bachelor of Science in Business, Management Information Systems from the University of Texas, Dallas and an MBA from Southern Methodist University, Cox School of Business.
Senior Vice President
Katherine is the senior vice president of Enterprise Innovation at Thomson Reuters. In this role, she creates the processes and supports the culture shift to enhance innovation outcomes both within the company and through external partnerships – all focused on accelerating organic growth.
Prior to this role, Katherine was a part of the Corporate Strategy team, where she worked with leadership from across the company to create a long-term aspiration based on market understanding and access to customers and products. Katherine has been with Thomson Reuters for over 10 years in varied positions across the corporation. She has held senior strategy positions within both the Legal and Tax & Accounting businesses, and she headed up Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture for Healthcare & Science. From there, she moved to a role as part of the Office of the CEO, where she worked on various projects within the News division and the company-wide Transformation program.
Katherine sits on the Board of SOAR Triangle, a non-profit aimed at closing the proven funding gap facing female entrepreneurs. She also sits on the Advisory Board of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business’ Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Katherine worked for Accenture, within their technology and strategy practice focused on the Media, Entertainment and Telecom industries.Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University.
Steve Mendelsohn is responsible for leading the direction of information and technology solutions including a company flagship product, Checkpoint, the industry-leading Tax & Accounting research platform.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Mendelsohn served as senior vice president and general manager of the Online Media business within Knowledge Solutions. Before that, he was senior vice president and general manager of ONESOURCE Income Tax. He also held positions in the Trust and Specialty Tax areas of Tax & Accounting.
Mr. Mendelsohn has been involved in systems and technology throughout his career, including positions at Eastman Kodak Company, R. Shriver Associates, Price Waterhouse, and as president of Omega Systems.
He holds a BS in Systems & Information Science from Syracuse University and an MBA in Operations from the University of Rochester. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the New York Chapter of the American Heart Association.
Office of the President
Keith Nichols was appointed Office of the President, Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting in May 2015 and is based in Carrollton, Texas. In his current role Keith works closely with other members of the Tax & Accounting executive leadership team to develop strategy and execute business operations throughout Tax & Accounting and Thomson Reuters as a whole. Previously Keith was responsible for all of the Thomson Reuters businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa as managing director, Africa from 2012 to 2015 and was based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was responsible for developing strategy and executing operational plans to drive profitable short- and long-term growth across all Thomson Reuters business units in Africa, which included Financial & Risk, Legal, Tax & Accounting and Intellectual Property & Science.
Prior to moving to Africa, Keith was responsible for leading a business in the Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting portfolio which provided an outsourced solution for managing indirect taxes for clients in the United States. Keith has also held various strategic planning and operational roles in Thomson Reuters and spent several years leading the integration of several newly acquired companies, resulting in the doubling of revenue in the Tax & Accounting business unit in a three-year time period. Keith also has experience leading sales, marketing and operations for the ONESOURCE Property Tax business, which provided property tax and unclaimed property consulting and compliance software and services.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Keith was an Officer in the United States Army and saw active service in Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a BS in Systems Engineering as well as an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Global Head of Human Resources
Varghese Paul is currently the global head of Human Resources for the Tax & Accounting business, based in Carrollton. Prior to this, he served as the Head of Human Resources for India and the Global operations centers which housed about 15,000 employees in six countries. In this capacity, Varghese was responsible for developing and delivering people strategy for the function, driving performance and ensuring alignment with the long-term strategic vision. Prior to this role, Varghese was the Head of Human Resources for Thomson Reuters Corporate, based in the US.
During his 19-year experience as an Human Resources professional, Varghese has held a number of senior leadership roles with UBS, Standard Chartered, Bank of America and Ernst & Young.
Varghese holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mahatma Gandhi College, India and a MBA in International Business from the ENPC School of International Management in Paris (ENPC MBA Paris).
SVP and Managing Director, Global Trade Management
Taneli Ruda is senior vice president and managing director of the Global Trade Management business segment of Thomson Reuters. This business provides workflow software solutions for companies to automate their global trade functions. Mr. Ruda is the general manager of the business unit and responsible for its operations globally. He joined the company in January 2010 as senior vice president of Strategy for Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting.
Prior to this appointment, Mr. Ruda was vice president of Strategy Development for Nokia where he was responsible for the mobile communication company’s strategy initiatives, including product and service expansion and major strategic alliances, as well as managing Nokia’s technology strategy forum. Before that, he was a manager for The Boston Consulting Group, a global business strategy consulting firm. Mr. Ruda has also served in engineering roles at two technology start-up businesses.Mr. Ruda holds a doctorate in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Science, both from the Helsinki University of Technology.
Chief Marketing Officer
As Tax & Accounting’s Chief Marketing Officer, Alecha oversees marketing communications, customer experience, demand generation and online marketing for the company. She is also charged with leading the marketing teams supporting Tax & Accounting’s ONESOURCE, Checkpoint, Onvio, CS Professional and Aumentum brand families around the globe.
Alecha rejoined Thomson Reuters during the Fall of 2015 after enjoying a distinguished 15-year career at Dell where she served most recently as the chief of staff for Dell’s chief marketing officer. During her tenure there, Alecha was responsible for directing the Preferred Accounts and Education/State & Local Government segments, ensuring the end-to-end marketing strategies were optimally executed to meet the company’s goals in those growth areas. Previous to those roles, Alecha served as Dell’s director of Global Messaging and Programs, in which she was focused on creating the go-to-market positioning for Dell Services, Solutions, Data Center and Public Verticals.
Prior to her time at Dell, Alecha served as the director of Marketing and Creative Services during a six-year career at Thomson Reuters in which she led direct marketing, event engagement and an internal ad agency. She also held a marketing and sales leadership role at Sheshunoff Consulting and Solutions, an online compliance and financial services company.A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Alecha earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications in 1993.
Chief Strategy Officer, Chief Financial Officer
Salim Sunderji is responsible for the overall strategy for the division as well as finances of the business including capital allocation, acquisitions and divestitures.
Salim has more than 25 years of experience working in the software, services and technology industries with functional breadth that spans sales, finance and operations.
Prior to his current position, he was senior vice president of Corporate Transformation where he co- sponsored the Technology Workstream. His previous role was global head of Finance (SVP) for investors in the Financial & Risk business of Thomson Reuters.
Before joining Thomson Reuters, Salim worked at IBM in various capacities from sales to finance. He also worked for Eastman Kodak Company as general manager, Presentation Technologies; vice president of Digital and Applied Imaging; and as CFO and COO of Enhansiv, a Teletech-funded start up.
Salim holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Physics and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University.
