Brian Peccarelli is responsible for the overall global Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, which provides tax and accounting automation solutions and related services to multinational corporations, professional accounting firms and governments.
With more than 25 years of experience working in the tax software and services industry, Mr. Peccarelli most recently served as president of Workflow & Service Solutions within the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
Mr. Peccarelli is a CPA and an attorney, a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Texas Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He received his JD from Hamline University School of Law, his BA in Accounting and Business Administration from Carthage College and his MBA from Southern Methodist University.
Jon Baron joined Thomson Reuters in 1992. Prior to his promotion to managing director in 1998, he was vice president of development, responsible for the design and development of all products and services for the Professional Segment, Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters.
His more than 40 years of technology development and management experience includes more than 17 years with CCH Computax (now Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting North America software unit) in various executive technology development and operations positions.
Mr. Baron earned a BBA in Accounting from Siena College and an MBA from Boston University.
Global Head of Product and Managing Director, Europe Market Development
Paul Brindle is responsible for the Tax & Accounting operations in the regions of Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Australia / New Zealand. His focus is on expanding the Corporate, Professional, Knowledge Solutions and Government businesses in these regions by enhancing go-to-market capabilities and building additional scale to service the company’s global, regional and local customers.
Mr Brindle is also Global Head of Portfolio Management for Tax & Accounting. He has oversight of the product development roadmap, key regional go-to-market strategy and channel management, and the capital planning process in support of the global product portfolio of Tax & Accounting.
Before joining Thomson Reuters in 2007, Mr Brindle was with PwC for 16 years where he worked in Melbourne, London and Sydney. As a partner at PwC he worked in the firm’s tax practice, specialising in corporate tax advice, international tax and tax compliance across a range of industries. During this time he built up the Australian firm’s tax software business which was ultimately acquired by Thomson Reuters.
Mr Brindle is a Chartered Accountant, a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has a Bachelor of Business (Honours) in Accounting from Monash University. He has an MBA from Melbourne Business School and has completed executive programs at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago and the WHU – Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Germany.
Sari L. Dweck
Senior Vice President
Sari L. Dweck is the General Counsel for the overall Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, which provides tax and accounting software solutions and related services to multinational corporations, professional accounting firms and governments.
Prior to her current position, Sari was the Assistant General Counsel of Thomson Learning, a publisher of higher education textbooks and online learning solutions and, prior to that, transactions counsel to the Thomson Corporation.
Before joining The Thomson Corporation in 2001, Ms. Dweck was a partner in the New York office of the law firm of Wolf Block Schorr and Solis-Cohen, where she practiced in the fields of general corporate law, securities law, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Dweck received her BA degree from Barnard College/Columbia University and her JD degree from NYU Law School.
Carol MacKinnon Fox
Automotive Practice Leader, New York
Carol is responsible for the Automotive Industry Practice Group. She also oversees the company’s relationships with the Big 4 accounting firms.
Since joining Reuters in 1998, Carol has held a variety of roles in marketing, sales, and strategy.
She received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Carol worked at The Advisory Board Company.
Carol is a trustee of the Lower East Side Ecology Center.
Senior Vice President
Katherine is the senior vice president of Enterprise Innovation at Thomson Reuters. In this role, she creates the processes and supports the culture shift to enhance innovation outcomes both within the company and through external partnerships – all focused on accelerating organic growth.
Prior to this role, Katherine was a part of the Corporate Strategy team, where she worked with leadership from across the company to create a long-term aspiration based on market understanding and access to customers and products. Katherine has been with Thomson Reuters for over 10 years in varied positions across the corporation. She has held senior strategy positions within both the Legal and Tax & Accounting businesses, and she headed up Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture for Healthcare & Science. From there, she moved to a role as part of the Office of the CEO, where she worked on various projects within the News division and the company-wide Transformation program.
Katherine sits on the Board of SOAR Triangle, a non-profit aimed at closing the proven funding gap facing female entrepreneurs. She also sits on the Advisory Board of Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business’ Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Katherine worked for Accenture, within their technology and strategy practice focused on the Media, Entertainment and Telecom industries.Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College and a Masters of Business Administration from Duke University.
Managing Director, Government
Keith Nichols is responsible for the global strategy and business operations of the government practice within the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. Prior to that, he was appointed Office of the President, Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting in May 2015 and worked closely with other members of the Tax & Accounting executive leadership team to develop strategy and execute business operations throughout Tax & Accounting and Thomson Reuters as a whole.
In a past role, Keith was responsible for all of the Thomson Reuters businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa as managing director, Africa from 2012 to 2015 and was based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was responsible for developing strategy and executing operational plans to drive profitable short- and long-term growth across all Thomson Reuters business units in Africa, which included Financial & Risk, Legal, Tax & Accounting and Intellectual Property & Science. Prior to moving to Africa, Keith was responsible for leading a business in the Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting portfolio which provided an outsourced solution for managing indirect taxes for clients in the United States. Keith has also held various strategic planning and operational roles in Thomson Reuters and spent several years leading the integration of several newly acquired companies, resulting in the doubling of revenue in the Tax & Accounting business unit in a three-year time period. Keith also has experience leading sales, marketing and operations for the ONESOURCE Property Tax business, which provided property tax and unclaimed property consulting and compliance software and services.
Earlier in his career, Keith was an Officer in the United States Army and saw active service in Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a BS in Systems Engineering as well as an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Global Head of Human Resources
Varghese Paul is currently the global head of Human Resources for the Tax & Accounting business, based in Carrollton. Prior to this, he served as the Head of Human Resources for India and the Global operations centers which housed about 15,000 employees in six countries. In this capacity, Varghese was responsible for developing and delivering people strategy for the function, driving performance and ensuring alignment with the long-term strategic vision. Prior to this role, Varghese was the Head of Human Resources for Thomson Reuters Corporate, based in the US.
During his 19-year experience as an Human Resources professional, Varghese has held a number of senior leadership roles with UBS, Standard Chartered, Bank of America and Ernst & Young.
Varghese holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mahatma Gandhi College, India and a MBA in International Business from the ENPC School of International Management in Paris (ENPC MBA Paris).
Chief Financial Officer
In 2017 Michelle Scheer was named Chief Financial Officer for Tax & Accounting. Before this role, Michelle was Treasurer of Thomson Reuters, where she led the evolution of Thomson Reuters’ capital strategy and completed the sale of the IP & Science business. Previously, she was Vice President of Finance for the Corporate segment of Tax & Accounting. Michelle joined Thomson Reuters in July 2009 as Assistant Treasurer.
Prior to Thomson Reuters, Michelle spent more than 10 years at General Motors in various treasury and finance roles, including business development, worldwide pension funding & analysis, foreign exchange risk management, debt capital markets, and investor relations.
Michelle holds a BS in Mathematics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Michelle was honored by Treasury & Risk as one of their 2012 picks for 30 outstanding corporate finance executives under age 40 (“30 under 40” list).
Chief Marketing Officer
As Tax & Accounting’s Chief Marketing Officer, Alecha oversees marketing communications, customer experience, demand generation and online marketing for the company. She is also charged with leading the marketing teams supporting Tax & Accounting’s ONESOURCE, Checkpoint, Onvio, CS Professional and Aumentum brand families around the globe.
Alecha rejoined Thomson Reuters during the Fall of 2015 after enjoying a distinguished 15-year career at Dell where she served most recently as the chief of staff for Dell’s chief marketing officer. During her tenure there, Alecha was responsible for directing the Preferred Accounts and Education/State & Local Government segments, ensuring the end-to-end marketing strategies were optimally executed to meet the company’s goals in those growth areas. Previous to those roles, Alecha served as Dell’s director of Global Messaging and Programs, in which she was focused on creating the go-to-market positioning for Dell Services, Solutions, Data Center and Public Verticals.
Prior to her time at Dell, Alecha served as the director of Marketing and Creative Services during a six-year career at Thomson Reuters in which she led direct marketing, event engagement and an internal ad agency. She also held a marketing and sales leadership role at Sheshunoff Consulting and Solutions, an online compliance and financial services company.A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Alecha earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in speech communications in 1993.
Managing Director, Knowledge Solutions
Salim Sunderji is responsible for the overall strategy for the division as well as leading the Knowledge Solutions business which includes the direction of information and technology solutions including a company flagship product, Checkpoint, the industry-leading Tax & Accounting research platform.
Salim has more than 25 years of experience working in the software, services and technology industries with functional breadth that spans sales, finance and operations.
Prior to his current position, he was chief financial officer for Tax & Accounting where he led the finances as well as mergers and acquisitions for the division. His role previous to that was senior vice president of Corporate Transformation where he co-sponsored the Technology Workstream. He also served previously as global head of Finance (SVP) for investors in the Financial & Risk business of Thomson Reuters.
Before joining Thomson Reuters, Salim worked at IBM in various capacities from sales to finance. He also worked for Eastman Kodak Company as general manager, Presentation Technologies; vice president of Digital and Applied Imaging; and as CFO and COO of Enhansiv, a Teletech-funded start up.
Salim holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry and Physics and an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell University.
