Five Ways to Make the Most of SYNERGY Aumentum User Groups Conference 2017

Aumentum, Blog, Events, Governments June 26, 2017

The annual SYNERGY Aumentum User Groups Conference is a rich environment for the robust exchange of knowledge — knowledge that will empower users to fully leverage the software on behalf of our communities in the coming year. This year, SYNERGY will be in Fort Worth September 17-21.

Since you are the heart of our mission, we encourage you to take full advantage of this year’s program and register today.

Here are five ways you can optimize your experience at SYNERGY 2017.

NETWORK
This year, we’re introducing more ways for SYNERGY attendees to network. During our new Senior Leadership Seminar, peer government officials, industry associations, media partners, and senior Thomson Reuters technologists will hold roundtable discussions on governance challenges and technology trends.

During break-out sessions and track-specific courses, we’re offering more opportunities to meet like-minded professionals. Tuesday evening, we’re partnering with association partners to facilitate a social networking mixer for taxing, assessing, and recording professionals.

LEARN
During SYNERGY, you can take advantage of more than 100 sessions over a four-day period. Gain deep knowledge and expertise about Thomson Reuters products while learning directly from peers and Thomson Reuters experts.

We have also stacked our plenary sessions. On Monday, Mona Vernon, global vice president of Thomson Reuters Data Labs, will reveal how you can unlock the power of big data. Tuesday, Mark Funkhouser, publisher of Governing magazine, will present insights into the growing risk crunch facing public pension funds. And Wednesday, Sharon Sayles Belton, former mayor of Minneapolis and vice president of Community Affairs for Thomson Reuters, will lead a panel discussion on how the national opioid epidemic has created financial and security risks for county governments across the nation.

ENGAGE
Throughout the conference, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to meet Thomson Reuters staff — including our executives, product managers, customer service staff, and account representatives. This year, we’re also introducing our Innovation Lab to share new research and development projects. We hope you will come by and give us your feedback on these ideas.

Our partner sponsors look forward to meeting you, as well — including platinum sponsor Simplifile and gold sponsor Esri. Don’t miss your chance to connect with them and many other exhibitors about their newest technology and service offerings impacting our ecosystem.

Join members of the Tarrant Appraisal District for an interesting walking tour of downtown Fort Worth highlighting the unique appraisal considerations of the city known for its distinctive mix of cowboys and culture.

OUTREACH
This year, we’re excited to introduce a new community outreach event. On Thursday morning, Thomson Reuters staff members — including senior executives — will partner with a community outreach program. We invite you to come work alongside us. Together, we can make a small difference in our host city while enjoying a few hours of relaxed camaraderie. More details forthcoming on this program.

CELEBRATE
Last, but definitely not least, SYNERGY is a time to celebrate the collaborative successes we’ve enjoyed over the past year. Of course, the culminating event at every SYNERGY is our Public Sector Champions Awards Banquet. This year is no exception. We look forward to introducing you to the impressive and deserving 2017 winners. If you haven’t already done so, you still have time to nominate a jurisdiction.

What I love most about my job is learning about the all the positive ways our customers are enriching their communities. SYNERGY is the time when we can share and celebrate these achievements.

I look forward to seeing you in Fort Worth!
