Indicate Data Entered as an Estimated Value

Blog, CS Professional Suite, CS Tax & Asset Management Solutions November 29, 2016

You can now indicate data entered in a field as an estimated value for generating estimates, extensions or for tax planning purposes. These markers can be added through the right-click context menu or by choosing Edit > Estimated value. A new Estimate tab will be available in the Diagnostics window, displaying the field and estimated value. Each estimate diagnostic will contain the value of the field in the diagnostic for easy review. Diagnostics can be acknowledged or edited from this window as well.

You can also send your 1040 clients a Missing Data message via email, listing any field that’s marked as an estimate in a case where you’re still waiting on a source document to confirm the data. Once a data entry field has been verified as a valid entry or corrected with an accurate value you can acknowledge the estimate, similar to the way you’d acknowledge an FYI Diagnostic.
