The TEI NJ Chapter recently brought together close to 200 tax professionals to discuss industry trends and developments in federal, state, and international tax.

John Kuchinski from KPMG discussed the daily challenges that tax professionals face around data and legal entity information.  The career of a tax professional is an extremely tough job and has not become easier over time. Although the development of technology has made it better, in context of the current environment, there are constant business, legislative, and regulatory changes.

Emphasizing there is always more to learn, he recommended tax professionals must stay on top of these changes, especially since taxing authorities are becoming more sophisticated and are talking to each other. Kuchinski’s closing advice was urging the group to ask for support when needed from their CFOs and other finance executives.

These events offer a perfect forum to foster conversation and build knowledge of the latest developments in both tax and within the group, including an announcement about a newly formed group for TEI NJ female professionals in tax.
