From the Desk of Treva Bitler

As of July 1st, Manatron is now Thomson Reuters. In July 2011, Manatron was acquired by Thomson Reuters and we have been going through the process of officially joining the Thomson Reuters team. The latest change has been officially transitioning to the Thomson Reuters brand. This is taking us a little getting used to, as I am sure applies to you as well. So don’t get worried that we have gone away, we are still the same team, just with a new name.

You will also notice, if you haven’t already, we are going through the process of changing our e-mail addresses. Our Manatron e-mail address will be forwarded to the Thomson Reuters account so in case you still have our old e-mail addresses saved, we will still get your e-mail. The helpdesk@manatron.com e-mail address still works and you will be notified when this will change.

Summer is a busy time for all of us. Finishing collections, getting into roll processes, settlements, entering special assessments, there is always something for you to do. We are here to help you through all this. We are also in the process of developing our fall release of MVP. We will be scheduling a follow-up OMAC meeting soon to decide which OMAC items will be in the next release, so keep your eye out for an e-mail and we hope you can attend. We will also be having OMAC elections soon, so if you would like to be a part of the OMAC council please let someone from support aware.

As we go through these transitions and busy times, we are continually dedicated to you our customers and guiding you through this process. Thank you for your continued business and we are happy to be here to assist you.

Delinquent Reporting in MVP
By Nicole Severance / Sr Lead Applications Support Analyst

Wow, I cannot believe how quickly summer is flying by this year and what a hot one it has been. As summer comes to a close, it will be time to start running your delinquent reporting in MVP and preparing for delinquent advertising in the fall.

Step one will be to certify all new delinquent parcels in 2011 pay 2012 and then roll all unpaid balances from 2011pay 2012 into 2012 pay 2013. After rolling delinquents, the Treasurer’s office can run delinquent tax bills and choose to bill out recently delinquent people or all parcels with an outstanding balance. Once billing is completed, you can generate a list of parcels with balances for the Delinquent Advertising List and also run a Prosecutor’s Delinquent List for parcels eligible for foreclosure.

After all the advertising costs are figured, you can run the newly added auto apportioning of expenses report and have MVP calculate the advertising charges per political sub unit.

At any point in time if this seems a little overwhelming or you need specific process instructions, please call the helpdesk so an available support analyst can assist in guiding you through these processes. You can also check our Connexions website for the latest process documentation.

We look forward to hearing from you and have a safe and happy summer!

Value Abstract Processing
By Liz Howard / Sr Lead Applications Support Analyst

If you have not already started reviewing your DTE 93 Value Abstract now is the time. We suggest processing your abstract at least 1x monthly and make corrections as necessary. This creates an ease of processing once it is time to submit it to the State. Exempt and Agricultural Abstracts should also be reviewed. Per ORC 5715.23, the DTE 93 Value abstract is generally requested by the end of October with extensions being granted by the State.

Here are some of the common issues you may encounter that need to be corrected prior to submitting your DTE 93 Value Abstract to the State:

  • Line 14 matches Last Years Ending Balances
  • Line 16,17 balance to Summary of Charges
  • Demo is negative
  • N/C is positive
  • Total Annex is zero
  • Reclassify generally balances
  • No excessive in Miscellaneous
  • No “Complimenting” Entries
  • Review changes in exempt when abate/TIF with N/C, BOR, etc
  • Verifications as necessary of individualized property changes
  • Verify parcels that appear on the Exceptions Listing

Corrections can be made in FVC where you may choose to modify the “Reason For Change” code or “Clear Current Year” if necessary. You may also choose to use the Abs Command to correct directly on the abstract.

If you have any issues you are unsure how to work through please contact MVP Support. As we have done in the past, a MVP Support Analyst will be assigned to assist with these processes. Be looking for further communication from your assigned analyst in the coming weeks. Please continue to submit all issues via the helpdesk and your assigned analyst will contact you as soon as possible.
