From the Desk of Tom Walsh
I had the pleasure of attending our Florida User Group Conference in July, and was able to meet many of you who attended. We value our relationships with you and in my new role, events like this are a great way for all of us to get to know one another better.
As you have heard, we recently announced some exciting news. On August 26th, we launched our new product brand name – one that reflects our renewed focus on our customers. Our government revenue management (GRM®) suite of products is now Thomson Reuters Aumentum.
This change provides our business the opportunity to focus even more than ever on what matters most: our customers. Thomson Reuters has made significant investments in the Florida market and the Government business will double-down on our commitment to you as well. We have increased our investment in the development of our products including the addition of people to support this effort. We are also focused on our internal processes so that you can be certain of our ability to stand behind Aumentum and to enable excellence through expertise, technology and people – to help you govern more transparently, efficiently, and equitably. We are committed to providing our solutions to local markets, including Florida – as this is an essential part of our Purposeful Growth pillar.
I have now met many of you and look forward to meeting all of you, so as to better understand how we can support you in the best way possible. Watch with me as our company and new brand advance over the coming months and years and I look forward to working with each of you as we chart our path forward together.

2013 User Group Conference – Knowledge is Power
Thanks to all that participated in the 2013 Florida MVP Tax & CAMA User Group Conference. Once again, Tax Collector and Property Appraiser offices convened at the Renaissance Hotel in Tampa for our annual event.
Our welcome address was delivered by none other than Al Ales. Even though Al is on loan to the Aumentum Project Management team, he couldn’t possibly miss our meeting and social events. Good to see you Al! Many of you also had the opportunity to meet Tom Walsh, our new Managing Director of our Government segment of Thomson Reuters. Tom has been with Thomson Reuters for over 19 years and is excited about being a part of the Government team.
This year’s theme “Knowledge is Power” helped formulate our educational agenda. Based on survey results, we included sessions on functionality and best practices for the 5 most requested items:
• Corrections – Manual & Automated presented by Bob Debold
• Mass Correspondence & InfoTrieve presented by Michael Leavor & Kyle Keen
• Check 21 & Imaging – presented by Gerald Cates & Kevin Rock
• E-Billing – presented by Alan Vandergrift & Diana Chadwell
• Did You Know – presented by Beth Williams
• CollectMax 4.0 – presented by Sandy Ingram & Steve Miller
• Technical Track – presented by Bobby Dow
After a full day of participating in our sessions, our Customer Appreciation Party provided an opportunity for some fun & games – literally! Many of you enjoyed playing Poker & Blackjack at the Casino night and for the non-gamblers we had music and dancing. A picture is worth 1,000 words!
Got Your 6
Are you familiar with the phrase “Got Your 6”? In the military it means “I got your back”. “Got Your 6” is a campaign that unites the entertainment industry with top veteran-focused nonprofit organizations. The goal of the campaign is to bridge the civilian-military divide by creating a new conversation in America, so that veterans and military families are perceived as leaders and civic assets.
For our Keynote address we had the privilege of 2 representatives from the University of South Florida speak to us regarding the programs available to veterans at USF. Tony Rivera Assistant Director, Office of Veterans Services and Ray Mollison, President of the Student Veterans Association shared very personal accounts of the issues that veterans can face when trying to integrate back into the workforce and society and how we can help these very deserving men and women.
