PORTAGE, MI — May 8, 2012 – Manatron, Inc. – a Thomson Reuters business, a global leader in providing integrated property tax and land administration software for governments worldwide, today announced that two Oregon counties – Yamhill County and Josephine County – have contracted the company to implement its Government Revenue Management (Aumentum) technology to assist in the appraisal and assessment of property values.
Yamhill County serves a constituency of more than 100,000. Its offices manage 45,000 total tax accounts, which have a “real market” value of more than $9.2 billion, and an “assessed” value of $6.8 billion. Josephine County has a population of more than 90,000 and its offices manage 51,000 total tax accounts, which have a “real market” value of more than $8.5 billion, and an “assessed” value of $6.1 billion.
“Manatron was the clear choice when we searched for a partner to upgrade our software, as the company’s products always incorporate leading edge technology,” said Scott Maytubby, Yamhill County assessor. “Yamhill County is a growing county and we needed new technology that would help us manage this growth. Aumentum is a state-of-the-art product and will position us well for future initiatives and service for the residents of Yamhill County.”
Through a broad research and review process, both counties selected Manatron based on the company’s extensive knowledge of the Oregon appraisal code, as well as for the high-value functionality and product features. With these contracts, Manatron now serves twelve total counties in the state and Yamhill and Josephine become the third and fourth Oregon counties to move to Aumentum.
Manatron’s Aumentum installation replaces both counties’ decades-old legacy mainframe applications and will provide increased efficiency within the assessment offices. The software will also provide the counties with additional functionality for data query, reporting and analysis. This combination of power and flexibility makes the Aumentum software a popular choice for growing jurisdictions — like Yamhill and Josephine.
“Manatron’s Aumentum is a powerful product that fits our software needs as we continue to improve our services yet remain consistent with the state’s valuation requirements,” said Connie Roach, Josephine County assessor. “We are confident Manatron will be a partner to not only complete the conversion process, but apply their experience and knowledge of our jurisdiction and the state as a whole to ensure a smooth implementation.”
Throughout the installation process, Manatron will be preparing Yamhill and Josephine counties for a more technically advanced future. The new software will allow the district to improve communication and interaction with its constituents, while offering better methods of evaluation and use of departmental resources. Manatron expects project go-lives in 2014.
