About the hosts
I helped launch the Pulse of the Practice podcast in 2019 with the desire to share my experiences and the experiences of others. I hope to share a different perspective on the world of tax and accounting in hopes of initiating a “change in mindset” for people who feel like they are stuck in the grind. Conversations and interviews with all types of people who have insight and influence over the world of tax and accounting are what help listeners continue to evolve in the ever-changing tax/accounting industry.
Paul Miller is the founder and owner of Business by Design in Edina, Minnesota. His firm specializes in providing advisory services and tax strategies for small business entrepreneurs for the past 25 years. Paul partnered with Thomson Reuters in 2013 to show accounting firms a new business model of offering advisory services. Since then, he has helped lead the charge as firms transition from a traditional tax/accounting mindset to an advisory-services model.
