Approach to BEPS
What has best described your approach in responding to BEPS?
Among all countries, the percentage of respondents who report proactively taking steps in responding to BEPS has increased by 12 percentage points year-over-year (54% to 66%). Three-quarters (75%) of Europe respondents report proactively taking steps, which is 11 percentage points higher than the U.S. One-third (33%) of Asia/Pacific respondents report waiting for other countries to implement.
Biggest BEPS Change
Which of the BEPS Actions has required the biggest change in your department?
83% of respondents report Transfer Pricing (documentation and country-by-country reporting) as the biggest change among all of the BEPS Actions — an increase of seven percentage points from 2015.
Tax Department Impact
How have these changes affected your department?
Based on the BEPS Action requiring the biggest change in their department, 86% of respondents are increasing their time spent on BEPS-related compliance. This includes the majority of both Europe (90%) and Latin America (93%). The U.S. lags the aggregate significantly (by 21 percentage points).
