Learning objectives

This practical, hands-on program is designed for tax professionals with limited tax experience and knowledge. This course provides learning opportunities surrounding common individual and corporate tax topics that they may encounter. The course provides information on tax rules and challenges participants to complete case studies and exercises in which they apply the rules and complete actual tax forms.

TaxWatch University is designed for tax professionals at all experience levels, from those new to core tax topics to experienced staff preparing for leadership responsibilities. Firms can align training with each employee's role, experience, and career path.

The curriculum is organized into five progressive training levels that help audit professionals build skills and advance throughout their careers. Each level focuses on knowledge and practical skills appropriate for a specific stage of development.

TaxWatch University offers three progressive training levels:

  • Introductory. This training is for tax professionals with approximately one to two years of experience and covers common core tax topics.
  • Intermediate. For tax professionals with approximately two to three years of experience, this program offers greater depth on corporate tax issues, partnerships, LLCs, and other special entities.
  • Advanced. Tax professionals with more than three years of experience will benefit from this curriculum, which includes dedicated leadership courses for those moving into management positions.

These levels create a structured development path from entry-level tax staff through experienced tax professionals transitioning to leadership roles.

Yes. TaxWatch University offers both virtual and in-person learning options throughout the year, allowing firms and individuals to choose the format that best fits their schedules and learning preferences.

Yes. TaxWatch University courses are eligible for continuing professional education (CPE) credit. Registering for a course earns 24 CPE credits. Thomson Reuters is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education.
