Achieving efficiency and effectiveness in tax management with technology
As a Gold Sponsor of the second Golden Tax Summit International Tax Conference, Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting was on hand to present our latest technology solutions for tax management in China.
Sam Reeves, director Client Services, Tax & Accounting, delivered the presentation Achieving Efficiency and Effectiveness in Tax Management with Technology, highlighting the risks and opportunities facing tax departments today, and how technology can be a driver for a business advantage.
Described as insightful and refreshing by many in attendance, Sam’s presentation was well received by his peers, with the organizer of the conference commenting, “Sam’s speech impressed the delegates. His analysis of the changing tax landscape, along with presentation of technology solutions, resonated with the attendees.” Some attendees even said that they would review their internal tax management and identify opportunities for improvement after listening to Sam’s presentation.
As China’s indirect tax system undergoes reform, discussions were also centered on how companies have responded to the value-added tax (VAT) reform in Shanghai and the lessons learned. Sam shared the practical implications of the reform, the challenges and opportunities it presents and a suggested course of actions to help companies prepare for the full transition from business tax (BT) to VAT.
And as the VAT reform evolves in China, Sam reiterated the commitment of Thomson Reuters to stay abreast of the latest developments and assist companies in maximizing their VAT compliance and efficiency through technology.
