Sandra Wiley

Sandra Wiley, President of Boomer Consulting, Inc., is ranked by Accounting Today as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Accounting,” as a result of her prominent role as an industry expert on human resources and training, as well as her influence as a management and strategic planning consultant. Sandra developed the P3™ Leadership Academy and hosts regional trainings around the country. She is also a founding member of The CPA Consultant’s Alliance.

Sandra is a certified Kolbe™ trainer who advises firms on building balanced teams, managing employee conflict and hiring staff. Sandra’s Kolbe A™ Index reveals her to be a visionary leader who is gifted with the ability to tackle challenges. She works with a sense of adventure, and relies upon her creativity and inspiration to cut through complexity and devise timely solutions.

Sandra directs Boomer Consulting, Inc.’s annual Talent Development Advantage and offers her services as co-director of the P3 Leadership Academy Program, as well as the CEO Advantage. She has been in the Strategic Coach Entrepreneurial Team Program™ for over 10 years and is responsible for communicating its concepts to clients and the Boomer staff.

Sandra is also a popular author who is frequently published by many trade journals, including CPA Practice Management Report, Accounting Today and Accounting Web.

Prior to joining Boomer, Sandra worked for more than 16 years in the financial services industry in the areas of human resources, marketing/sales, training, and business development. She has developed and presented over 50 training programs and numerous one-day seminars in human resources and marketing/sales.

Sandra is a graduate of Friends University, in Wichita, Kansas, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management. She also graduated with honors from the University of Colorado School of Bank Marketing.

Arianna Campbell
Boomer Consulting, Inc.

As a consultant for Boomer Consulting, Inc., Arianna Campbell helps accounting firms challenge the status quo by leading process improvement initiatives that result in increased profitability and client satisfaction. She also facilitates the development and cultivation of future firm leaders in the P3 Leadership Academy™. Internally, she blends concepts from Lean Six Sigma and leadership development to drive innovation and continuous improvement within the company. Arianna also enjoys the opportunity to share knowledge through regular contributions to the Boomer Bulletin and other industry-wide publications, as well as public speaking at industry conferences.

Arianna received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt from The Ohio State University, and her Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification from the University of Georgia.

Wayne Kerr, CPA
Thomson Reuters

Wayne Kerr, principal consultant with the Learning Group of Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting, works with firms to improve audit quality and efficiency, helping them revise and refine the way they approach audit planning, performance, and management. His extensive experience in audit process consulting includes implementing change throughout a firm’s entire audit practice, as well as working with individual engagement teams to reengineer audit approaches for specific engagements. Wayne also specializes in audit methodology customization and works with firms to develop firm-specific approaches, policies, and practice aids in areas such as establishing materiality, sampling, and internal controls testing.

Wayne is a popular speaker and presenter and provides training to firms on technical accounting and auditing topics, including an annual GAAP update and content tailored to address firm-specific needs resulting from internal inspections, peer reviews, or PCAOB reviews.

Before joining Thomson Reuters, Wayne worked for AuditWatch®, providing audit training and consulting to firms throughout the country. His career as a CPA began with Grant Thornton, where he served a diverse array of clients and where, in addition to his client service responsibilities, he had quality assurance responsibilities and served as the audit department head in the Salt Lake City office of the firm.

Wayne is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and holds BS and MA degrees in accountancy from Brigham Young University.

Jay Johnson
Thomson Reuters

Jay Johnson, product manager for the enterprise segment at Thomson Reuters, has a long and varied career in the public accounting industry. In his current role, he works to help the company understand the needs of large accounting firms and to help those customers understand the value of the company’s products and services. He is also specifically responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition of Thomson Reuters flagship document management and workflow solutions, GoFileRoom and FirmFlow.

Before his current role, Jay was a senior technical consultant with Thomson Reuters for almost four years, where he was responsible for leading tax, document management, workflow, and audit workpaper software implementation and redesign projects for public accounting firms across the U.S. and Canada.

Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Jay spent 14 years in the public accounting industry in both client service and internally facing roles. His early years were spent practicing at a small local firm in Indiana on various tax, accounting services, and database development engagements. His focus gradually shifted over the next few years as he developed a deep interest in increasing profitability and productivity through technology and process improvement initiatives.

He spent the last eight of his years in public accounting at a top-ten public accounting firm, where he was internally focused on various technology project management, implementation, and process improvement activities. Jay’s experience on both sides of technology adoption and utilization give him a deep understanding of the impact technology and its related processes can have on a firm.

Jay holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting and a Master of Business Administration, both from Indiana University South Bend.
