Debra Casey is an Executive Editor with Thomson Reuters. She is responsible for editing continuing professional educational material for CPAs in the accounting and auditing field through: updating and editing accounting and auditing texts; developing content for video and DVD products; writing audio and announcers’ scripts for online, video, and DVD products; editing and generating transcripts for a video-based monthly accounting and auditing newsletter, as well as a quarterly governmental and nonprofit newsletter.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Debra was with Bisk Education, Inc., as a senior editor in Accounting and Auditing. Previously, she worked in public accounting for local CPA firms in Tampa and Sarasota performing both audits and tax work, including nonresident Canadian filings. Debra worked as the controller and director of internal audit for a start-up prepaid Medicaid health plan, and in the tax department of a Fortune 500 subsidiary, managing fixed assets and capital budgeting, as well as state and local tax filings. She obtained her Masters and Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Florida, and a second Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of South Florida.
