Jason Kalies, CPA is a Content Specialist and Learning Instructor with Thomson Reuters. Jason brings to audiences his experience from over 16 years of auditing public and private companies, which included 2 years in a chief auditor network role, and his 3 years of managing the external reporting, financial standards and regulatory reporting teams at an SEC registrant. His client experience ranged from large SEC registrants to smaller partnerships and cooperatives with less than ten employees. Jason provides live, on-site training to audit and accounting professionals at conferences, seminars, webinars and at client offices. His audiences range from new associate/staff levels to directors/partners to the board room settings of audit committees. Jason leads sessions covering topics ranging from auditing fundamentals to specialized auditing topics and methodology to detailed technical accounting matters and recent accounting developments. His presentations can be customized and focused to his audience’s industry, areas of focus and experience level. In addition to his learning instructor roles, Jason is a member of Thomson Reuters editorial team, where he authors and reviews content for GAAP Reporter and Catalyst: US GAAP. His work centers around providing actionable insight for all levels of management and users. Jason is a CPA and received his accounting degree from St. Norbert College in DePere, WI. He currently resides in Minneapolis, MN and has a passion for photography, kayaking and biking. When he’s not delivering or writing content, you can find him kayaking on a Minnesota lake with his camera in hand!
