Kara Peterson
Kara Peterson is an author for GAAP Reporter and Catalyst: US GAAP. She is a Certified Public Accounting in the State of New York with 16 years of accounting and auditing experience. She began her career in public accounting and is a former audit manager at a Big Four public accounting firm. She has served clients that prepared financial statements in accordance with GAAP, IFRS, and statutory accounting principles, and has expertise in a number of areas, such as revenue recognition, fair value measurements, investments, derivatives, pensions, and accounting for insurance companies. She has taught trainings and published materials on various accounting subjects, including the new accounting models for revenue recognition, leases, and impairment of financial instruments under US GAAP. Kara is a graduate of Washington and Lee University with a degree in accounting and business administration.
