Pilar Garcia, CPA is an Executive Editor at Thomson Reuters. She is a Certified Public Accountant in New York and New Jersey, and has 17 years of accounting and auditing experience. Pilar is a former senior manager in a Big Four accounting firm. She also worked in this Big Four’s national office, specializing in financial reporting and SEC matters. Pilar has experience in a number of areas, including revenue recognition, business combinations, fair value measurements, and financial reporting under US GAAP and IFRS. She has participated on panels discussing technical subjects, such as SEC reporting, accounting for income taxes, and the new accounting models for revenue recognition and leases under US GAAP. Pilar has published materials on the new expected credit loss standard under US GAAP and accounting for income taxes, including the effects of tax reform on financial reporting.
