Review the system requirements and recommendations
Do your current workstations and network systems meet the minimum requirements and recommended specifications for running our applications? Do your server and your workstations have sufficient RAM? How modern are your server and workstation processors? Do you have enough free disk space? You’ll find information that will help you answer all of these questions and more on our Accounting CS/Accounting CS Payroll System Requirements page.

Review the SQL Server best practices for CS Professional Suite applications
It’s also a good idea to evaluate your network server setup. For the machine where the SQL Server for your CS Professional Suite applications resides, we recommend using a dedicated, 64-bit multi-core server. Ideally, this would be separate from your domain controller to avoid potential security and performance issues. You’ll find additional ways to optimize your setup in our Help & How-To Center.

Review your antivirus and firewall settings
Overly aggressive virus scanning can damage data files and slow down application processes. Make sure that your antivirus software is not scanning the \WINCSI folder in real time. In addition, if the antivirus software is installed on all of your computers and servers, you should disable network drive scanning for each of those workstations and the server to reduce redundant scanning and to minimize related performance issues. Each workstation and server should have its own antivirus application installed, and it should scan only the hardware on which it is installed. See the Antivirus guidelines for CS Professional Suite for detailed recommendations. Review your firm’s firewall settings using Firewall guidelines for CS Professional Suite.
