CS Tax & Asset Management Solutions February 5, 2014

You can instantly view the contents of e-files created with the Modernized e-File (MeF) format in UltraTax CS directly from the Electronic Filing Status dialog. To open this dialog, click the Electronic Filing Status UltraTax CS e-file button button on the toolbar or choose Utilities > Electronic Filing Status.

Once a return or extension is created electronically, you can view the contents of the e-file by opening the Electronic Filing Status dialog and clicking the View button next to the Client ID, as shown below.

Note: This feature applies to electronic returns and extensions for the following entities: 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041, 990, and 5500. The contents of these e-files are displayed in XML format according to IRS, State, and EFAST e-file specifications.

If the return or extension was created electronically more than once, expand the client by clicking the plus sign next to the Client ID and then clicking the View button(s) in the ELF Event column. When you click the View button, a previously-created e-file opens. Expanding the client also list the individual who created the e-file(s) and the date and time created.
