Last Tuesday, the ONESOURCE team landed in Los Angeles for the ONESOURCE 2016 Roadshow to share the exciting developments of the new platform with over 60 of our current and future customers.
The futuristic stage was set with a dome that enveloped attendees in the ONESOURCE innovative spirit, where customers had the opportunity to get hands-on demonstrations of the ONESOURCE 2016 platform: a simple, connected and modern experience that promises to transform the way tax professionals work.
The ONESOURCE Taxologist panel was a key highlight of the event for attendees. The panel, moderated by Joe Harpaz, managing director for the Corporate segment of the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, featured the following three industry experts, and two Taxologist Award-winners, discussing hot topics and best practices in tax technology:
- – Sarah Vance, US Tax Director, Cummins, Inc.
- – Joe May, Director, Tax Compliance, VF Corp.
- – Brad Ford, Principal (Partner) Deloitte
The panel candidly discussed challenges related to the evolving needs of tax professionals and how they’ve used technology to bridge the gap between their challenges and their ultimate success.
“It’s a rare and cherished opportunity to get real-world and practical perspective from three industry leaders at one time and place about topics that impact Taxologists every day,” said Joe Harpaz. “The wisdom and hands-on experiences they shared will guide attendees to do their jobs more effectively.”
Among other topics, panelists also discussed the impact of macroeconomics on the tax department, the outlook for the retail and manufacturing industries, and shared best practices for developing collaborative relationships between tax teams and IT departments. Panelists also highlighted the need for technology experience in their tax teams, pointing out that technology experience is one of the top skills they seek when hiring staff.
