9 Washington Localities Mull Over Sales Tax

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax February 6, 2012

Two counties, six cities, and a town in the Greater Wenatchee Regional Events Center Public Facilities District are in discussions over whether to increase their sales tax rate to help bail out a local arena in default.  The 4,300 seat arena defaulted by $41.8 million back in December.  Should the issue make it to the April 17th ballot and pass, current tax rates would be increased by 0.02%, but all nine governing bodies will need to be in agreement by March 2nd.
