Arkansas Election Results In Boone, Barry Counties

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax November 10, 2011

Voters across Boone and Barry counties in Arkansas soundly rejected a number of increases and new sales tax proposals on November 8th.  In Barry County, two new taxes aimed at improving safety through the police and fire departments were narrowly defeated.  In Boone County, however, a proposed 1 percent sales tax was easily defeated which would be used for road department purposes.  Other cities and towns across the state also faced similar rejection, with the exception of Warsaw, who approved a new tax for park systems and a new city pool.
