Best Sales Tax Holiday Ever!

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax August 24, 2012

In usual fashion, the Massachusetts Governor waited until the last minute to sign this year’s sales tax holiday into law.  Despite the lack of notice, retailers are saying that they saw the largest increase in retail sales and traffic they ever have for a sales tax holiday weekend.   In Massachusetts, the tax holiday has become a near-annual event since 2004.  During this weekend the state lifts the 6.25% sales levy off most items $2,500 or less.
