City Approaches Sales Tax Record

Amarillo is poised to set a new sales tax revenue record for the second consecutive year. With just one month left in its fiscal year, city sales tax revenue collections have increased by 5.6 percent.  The city projects that Amarillo will raise approximately $47.8 million in sales tax revenue. This year’s increase follows a 8.7 percent jump in collections, to $45.6 million, in fiscal year 2010-11.
