MoneyChickenAfter multiple proposals over the years, Henrico County, Virginia voters approved a 4% meals tax with 51.5% of the vote. The new meals tax is slated to benefit the county’s schools. While the measure passed, the effective date is yet to be decided; the Board of Supervisors must hold a public hearing and adopt an ordinance for the tax to become effective.  The Board work session, which will decide some of the yet unknown related details, will likely happen late November.
