We are only seeing a small amount of activity as far as changes go for the month of March. Look for quite a few more changes next month as states make their changes for Q2 2011. Some March changes are as follows:

New Levies

South Carolina – Enacted a new county sales and use tax rate (1% Charleston county)

Rate Changes

Alabama – Tallassee 4%, Tallassee Police Jurisdiction 2%
New York – Three counties removed their sales and use tax exemption on eligible clothing items (Broome county, Columbia county, Schuyler county)

Sales Tax Holidays

Kodiak, Alaska is having a sales tax holiday on all purchases of tangible personal property and services. This holiday will take place on 5 March 2011.

For more information regarding these changes I encourage you to visit the jurisdiction websites affecting your business.
