March Sales & Use Changes

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax February 27, 2012

As we inch closer to the end of Q1 2012, there are a few changes of note effective in March. Plenty of state and local jurisdictions have posted new levies and rate changes effective for April, so we are sure to have quite a bit of changes next month. Here are some items effective March 2012:

New Levies

Alabama: Idea 4.0% (standard rental rates); Ider Police Jurisdiction 2.0% (standard rental rates)
Virginia: Halifax County 4.0% (sales tax on meals)

Rate Changes

Alabama: Ragland 4.0%; Ragland Police Jurisdiction 2.0%
Oklahoma: Kingfisher County 0.75%

Sales Tax Holiday

Alaska, Kodiak: The city of Kodiak, Alaska is having a tax free day on 2 March 2012. This tax holiday applies to sales of all TPP, services, and rentals less than one day.
