Maryland’s Discount Cap Will Not Expire and Increase in Alcohol Tax

The credit offered in Maryland for filing your tax returns on time is now permanently set at $500 per return or $500 per consolidated return.  This credit cap was scheduled to expire on 30 June 2011.

Additionally, effective 1 July 2011, the sales tax on alcohol will increase from 6% to 9% in the state of Maryland.
