Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax August 8, 2012

The Washington Senate Finance Committee has passed a measure that could extend state and local sales tax deductions for people in Washington.  This is part of legislation that would renew tax breaks for businesses within the state. The sales tax deduction for residents of Washington and other states without income taxes is currently being supported by Senator Maria Cantwell and other senators. The overall bill passed August 2nd by a 19-5 vote. Whether it will ultimately be passed by Congress is uncertain at this time.
