September Sales & Use Tax Rate Changes

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax August 24, 2012

September did not consist of many changes, but we did implement many new auto rental authorities throughout several states. Below you can reference a selection of the the changes that took effect in September 2012:

Rate Changes:

Arizona: Wickenburg 1.69% (Sales Tax and Grocery Sales Tax; Tier amount decrease to $5000)

Sales Tax Holiday:

Alaska: Kenai Borough and the city of Homer will exempt purchases of non-prepared food beginning September 1st and going through May 31st the following year.  Each year, per code, the borough and cities throughout decide if they want to participate.  Kenai, Seldovia, Sewrd, and Soldotna have opted not to participate.

States that we implemented auto rental rates in this month include Delaware, Georgia, Kansas, Mississippi, Montana, and Utah.  Note that majority of these rates are effective dating back to when we began supporting auto rental rates, unless otherwise specified by ordinance.  More states will be included in future content.

Make sure to refer to your state and local websites for more detailed tax information.
