Tax Free Textbooks for Purdue?

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax January 24, 2012

The Purdue Student Government has brought several ideas to the legislative table in Indiana, one of which calls for college text books being tax free year around, or at the least, for a few days a year during a tax holiday period each semester.  The state estimates that this could cost them up to $10 million a year in revenue, but the PSG is trying to make the case that this would drive sales in local book stores.  With college education already high in cost, supporters say that this idea will help offset that cost.
