No Sales Tax Collection for Amazon in Indiana

Indirect Tax, ONESOURCE, Sales and Use Tax, Sales Tax Calculation April 19, 2013

In an effort to help local businesses House Representative Tom Dermody is determined to push through the Amazon sales tax bill. Currently no online sales tax is charged in Indiana due to a deal made between former Governor Mitch Daniels and Amazon. This deal prevents the collection of online sales tax by Amazon until the year 2014. The bill died in Senate without a hearing but is being kept alive through an unrelated bill by House committee members.
