E-Filing Replaces Spreadsheet Filing in Colorado

Indirect Tax, Tax Management Software October 7, 2010

Submitted by Guest Writer: Doreen Jesseph

Effective October 1, 2010, multiple location sales and use tax filers in Colorado who currently use spreadsheets to file their sales tax must choose a different filing method beginning with the September 2010 filing period. “Spreadsheet filers” must choose to file with an approved vendor, create their own XML file and have it approved by the state, or manually file a paper return for each branch or physical location.  Returns for the September filing period are due by October 20, 2010.

Thomson Reuters worked with the state of Colorado to create the new e-filing data file and process and is an approved vendor for both the on-premise and web-hosted versions of the ONESOURCE Sales & Use Tax software. For more information, please visit Thomson Reuters.
