2012 ACT Conference Recap from Disney

Best Practices, Global Tax Compliance, ONESOURCE, R&D Tax Credit, Tax Provision, Transfer Pricing, US Income Tax Compliance, WorkFlow Manager May 29, 2012

The 2012 ACT Conference sessions wrapped up with topics focused on automation, processes, and the future of the tax department. Attendees had the opportunity to attend a number of sessions that addressed different approaches to saving time. Stephen McGerty, VP and Head of ONESOURCE Tax Provision and Workflow, Thomson Reuters presented with Marcia Aulenback, VP of Tax, State Street Bank. They led a session titled, “A True Automated Tax Department”, where attendees learned how State Street utilizes technology to accelerate their processes and save time.

Although everyone may have been tired from the long week of sessions, there was still time for a trip around the world…..sort of.  The group was shuttled to Epcot for dinner in China followed by dessert in Mexico. Attendees were escorted to a private area for prime viewing of the IllumiNations and Fireworks show, the highlight of the evening. It was a great opportunity for everyone to escape from the daily grind of being a tax professional and feel the magic of Disney for a bit.

We’re looking forward to seeing everyone at the next events!
