This interactive corporate tax discussion brought together professionals representing a diverse range of departments from the Pittsburgh area. A full range of tax topics were covered, including:
- Ways to improve controls
- Strategies to shorten the time necessary to close filings
- Best practices on data management, and
- Ideas on re-engineering how tax departments operate
One of the challenges addressed included shortening the financial close. Attendees learned from a panel of top tax professionals how they’ve leveraged software to reduce long hours – through better utilization of people, process and technology. Another area of discussion was the impact of employee turnover to a company’s tax department. Often, this creates issues with managing data including knowing the status of tax packages and locating information. The tax professionals at this event addressed strategies to centralize data and leverage transformational tools to improve data and process management so that teams can be better aligned.
