When you think of “best in breed” conferences, South by Southwest (SXSW) may rise to the top of the list for music, film and interactive.
But what makes this conference in Texas’ state capital such a huge success? How did it become an eclectic crossroads of culture, innovation and art?
At the genesis of SXSW, Founders Roland Swenson and Louis Black didn’t aim to create a mammoth of a conference. Their purpose was to take what they love—music and film—and gather others around those common themes (and eventually added interactive to the mix). Innovation, inspiration and creativity dovetail to create the wildly successful conference thousands attend each year.
Like SXSW, SYNERGY strives to energize its attendees as a crossroads of tax and technology. It attracts industry thought leaders and seeks to inspire tax professionals with fresh ideas and best practices to harness the power of ONESOURCE.
Besides education, one of the most popular aspects is how it unites the tax community (over a thousand tax professionals). Last year we even launched the Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting Community to further bring tax professionals together.
