The appropriations and COVID-19 relief legislation passed by Congress in December 2020 has been signed into law by the President. The new law includes a variety of provisions affecting employer-sponsored benefit plans—some relating to the COVID-19 public health emergency and others with broader applicability. For more information, see our previous  Checkpoint article.

EBIA Comment: Employee benefit professionals will want to move quickly to familiarize themselves with the new law’s provisions. EBIA products will be updated to reflect the law, including EBIA’s Cafeteria Plans manual, EBIA’s Consumer-Driven Health Care manual, EBIA’s Health Care Reform manual, EBIA’s 401(k) Plans manual, EBIA’s Fringe Benefits manual, and EBIA’s Group Health Plan Mandates manual. Those who work with health and dependent care flexible spending arrangements (FSAs) won’t want to miss our upcoming webinar, FSA Relief Under the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2021, on February 3, 2021. Registration information will be available here soon, or for more information call 800-431-9025.
