EBIA: Your Trusted Partner in Employee Benefits Compliance

   December 21, 2017

When you need a resource for the ongoing compliance questions that come across your desk, EBIA has what you need and trust. The EBIA Benefits Compliance Library covers the spectrum for employer-sponsored health and welfare, fringe benefit, and 401(k) plans—and our recorded web seminars help you focus on select issues facing you and your team. Here are some recent highlights for Self-Insured Health Plans and Health Care Reform.

  • Self-Insured Health Plans. We have updated our discussions of telemedicine benefits, PCOR fees, and the preventive health services mandate. In addition, we have expanded our mental health parity and eligibility discussions to address more issues. Our discussion of participant disclosure requirements for self-insured plans has also been expanded and our table of key disclosure requirements has been updated. And as always, we cover the latest case-law developments affecting self-insured health plans. • Health Care Reform for Employers and Advisors. With the IRS poised to begin assessments of the first-ever employer shared responsibility penalties, we have updated our coverage for the process the IRS will use, including how an employer will be informed of potential liability, and how the employer is to respond to a proposed penalty determination and make a penalty payment. We also cover the final 2017 Forms 1094/1095 for purposes of reporting information the IRS needs to administer employer shared responsibility and premium tax credits. And, we’ve added a new sample document on disclosures and instructions for obtaining a valid employee consent to electronic delivery of Form 1095-C.
