Kathy Burns is a Senior Editor/Author with the Tax and Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. Kathy has over 25 years of experience in the state and local tax field, with an emphasis on income/franchise taxes. Before joining Thomson Reuters, Kathy was a senior state and local tax manager at Ernst & Young, where she provided services to large multi-state businesses. Her work included the review and analysis of proposed business reorganizations, multi-state tax minimization strategies, analysis of state tax filings, state tax provision analysis, and representation of clients in state tax controversies. Prior to her experience at E&Y, Kathy was a state and local tax manager with Arthur Andersen, LLP. Kathy is a graduate of Georgetown University and Villanova University School of Law. Kathy received an LL.M. in Tax from New York University School of Law.
