Tamara Hubbard is a Technical Accounting Author and Editor for Catalyst: US GAAP and GAAP Reporter. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Georgia and has over 20 years of accounting and auditing experience. She began her career in public accounting within the audit division of a Big Four firm and has spent much of her career auditing financial statements. She has served clients reporting under U.S. GAAP, Japanese GAAP, and statutory accounting across a range of industries including retail, manufacturing, real estate, and insurance. Throughout her career, she has gained experience as an Assistant Controller, a Financial Software Consultant, and an Accounting Policy Consultant for a Fortune 500 company. She has also developed and presented NASBA-certified training courses on many current accounting topics, including the recently adopted FASB Leases standard under ASC Topic 842. Tamara is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting and an honoree of Beta Alpha Psi and Beta Gamma Sigma.
