November is approaching and that means we will be discussing a lot of ballot measures. The Safety and Justice Roundtable has recommended a 0.25 percent sales tax increase be put on the Greene County ballot in November. The County Commission must decide if there is any chance of the law enforcement tax increase passing, as there has been little interest from voters in any sales tax increases of any kind. They have chosen not to include certain measures on the ballot in the past for this very reason. The Commission has until 30 August to put the issue to a vote on the ballot.
