Connecticut Commissioner of Revenue Services Kevin Sullivan has advised state taxpayers that the previously announced extension of state tax deadlines due to Hurricane Sandy through the end of the business day on November 7, 2012 remains in place. State tax deadlines will not be affected by any Internal Revenue Service (IRS) extensions for federal tax purposes. However, Commissioner Sullivan also announced that Governor Dannel Malloy has asked the Department of Revenue Services (DRS) to provide a means for storm affected taxpayers to request hardship waivers on a case by case basis. Sullivan stated that DRS will consider any demonstrated hardships that are impacting both in-state and out-of-state tax preparers. DRS will post a waiver form and additional information on its website. ( Hardship claims related to Storm Sandy, 11/02/2012. )
