Thomson Reuters has announced the details of its 11th annual thought leadership event series titled “Partner Summit: Moving Your Practice Forward.” For over a decade, these exclusive regional events have provided leaders of tax and accounting firms with thought-provoking insights and actionable implementation plans for how to build more progressive and growth-oriented practices.
Limited to 75 attendees per city, these two-day events are optimized to give attendees a unique learning experience across key areas including technology adoption and operating as a digital firm, a client-centric firm service culture, and a firm service mix that rethinks and extends beyond traditional services. The event presenters include thought leaders in the profession who offer relevant insights from a position of credibility that only comes from being active practitioners in firms that have achieved accelerated growth.
This year’s featured practitioner, Mark Martukovich, CPA and managing partner of FMA, CPA, will discuss his own firm’s success in expanding its focus from a primarily compliance-based practice to higher-value advisory services. Martukovich will describe how his firm positioned itself for a growth trajectory— boosting overall revenues by 20% in two years on the heels of attending a Thomson Reuters Partner Summit and becoming a Thomson Reuters Practice Forward firm.
In addition, expert speakers from Thomson Reuters will share their perspectives gained from years of helping firms redefine their business model, implement technology tools and establish workflow best practices.
The event will address principles that are top-of-mind for many practitioners, such as how to build more trusted advisor relationships with clients, generate multiple income streams, and establish a unique value proposition to move beyond the fee pressures inherent with offering traditional compliance services. Workshop sessions conducted in a classroom setting are conducive to meaningful learning and networking among peers, and will cover key topics including product and service development, sales and marketing, operations, firm management, leadership and plan execution.
“The tax and accounting profession is experiencing significant change from all angles, including new legislation, elevated client expectations, new technology tools and an ongoing, fast-paced business environment. Partner Summits help firms mitigate the market risks and capitalize on the new opportunities,” said Jean Rakich, senior director of training and consulting for the tax and accounting business of Thomson Reuters. “Our program is designed to enable each attendee to return to his or her firm with a specific action plan for how to leverage innovation, new processes and other management approaches to elevate client service and diversify their practice.”
“The Thomson Reuters Partner Summit sets itself apart from other tax and accounting professional conferences,” Martukovich said. “It combines thought leadership, a peer learning environment and innovative best practices with personalized guidance that provides a way forward for all attendees.”
