The Thomson Reuters SYNERGY Users’ Conference, held in Denver, Colo., Nov. 6-9, 2019, is hosting more than 1,600 attendees from more than 850 firms at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center for four days of hands-on training, learning about the latest technology in the profession, and networking with peers.

“Tax and accounting professionals and their clients face a constant barrage of technological and regulatory changes, and SYNERGY is all about arming professionals with the skills, knowledge, connections, and inspiration to thrive through these changes,” said Charlotte Rushton, president of the Tax & Accounting Professionals business at Thomson Reuters. “I’m thrilled to get to spend the next few days with our customers to help them sharpen their competitive edge.”

The conference features more than 200 sessions covering CPE fields of study including accounting, auditing, business management and organization, information technology, and computer software and applications.

In addition to earning CPE credit, attendees will be motivated and inspired by the events’ keynotes, which include a state of the profession by Charlotte Rushton; Carey Lohrenz sharing her experience as the first female F-14 Tomcat Fighter Pilot in the U.S. Navy; and a panel of Reuters journalists to give attendees context on the geopolitical events impacting them and their clients.

Technology and innovation are the key areas of focus at SYNERGY, and this year, the Innovation Lab Theater, Demo Theater and Experience Zone have been updated to enhance the experience of attendees.

To recognize professionals and firms that are already using innovation to add value to their clients, TR will also honor firms and individuals with the inaugural Luca Pacioli Accounting Awards. The Luca Pacioli Accounting Awards, formerly known as the Customer Superstar Awards, are named in honor of Luca Pacioli – known as the “father of accounting” – and his contributions to the profession.

In addition to knowledge and skill-building, attendees can expect a unique entertainment experience while at SYNERGY to relax and network with peers and colleagues. Attendees will spend Friday evening at the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum, where they can kayak, rock climb, and watch athletic performances – all inside a 182,000 square-foot hangar.
